Our Story
A tale of heritage, hospitality, and the finest Ceylon tea
Born from a Dream to Preserve Heritage
Adya Leisure Life was born from a simple yet profound belief: that the ancient kingdom of Dambadeniya deserves to be experienced, not just studied. We saw a region rich in 13th-century Buddhist heritage, surrounded by lush tea plantations, yet largely overlooked by the modern traveler.
In 2023, we set out to create a sanctuary — a place where weary travelers on the Buddhist pilgrimage circuit could pause, where tea lovers could taste estate-direct Ceylon teas, and where curious souls could immerse themselves in authentic village life.
Our Ownership with Sinolan Tea, a family enterprise spanning four years of tea mastery, allows us to offer an experience found nowhere else: a complete journey from estate to cup, paired with the spiritual tranquility of Dambadeniya.
"We didn't want to build just a hotel. We wanted to build a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern comfort."
— Founders, Adya Leisure Life
Five Pillars of Adya
Every decision we make is guided by these core principles.
Heritage Preservation
We actively support the conservation of Dambadeniya's ancient temples, rock fortress, and the stories of the sacred Tooth Relic's journey.
Authentic Experiences
No manufactured tourism here. Every experience we offer — from village walks to temple pilgrimages — is real, respectful, and deeply local.
Tea Excellence
Through our Sinolan Tea partnership, we bring you single-origin, estate-direct Ceylon teas that tell a story with every sip.
Sustainable Hospitality
Solar energy, water recycling, organic gardens, local sourcing — we tread lightly on this beautiful land while offering exceptional comfort.
Community Uplift
We employ locally, source locally, and reinvest locally. Our success is our community's success, and our guests become part of this circle.
